現在式

現在式代表一種持續的狀態，像是真理、事實等等。

  1. I eat lunch (這句代表我有吃午餐的習慣，而非我正在吃午餐)
    • 我正在吃午餐應該用 I am eating lunch.
  2. I am a student.
  3. John is my teacher.
  4. He swims. (這句代表他會游泳，或有游泳的習慣)
  5. I stay up late. (我有晚睡的習慣)
  6. I sleep late. (我有晚起床的習慣) I wake up late in the morning.
  7. I go to bed late and get up late. (我晚睡晚起)
  8. It rains often in Keelung.
  9. It's foggy. (起霧了)
  10. Kelly sings well.
  11. John cannot swim. (John 不會游泳)
  12. I don't drink coffee. (我不喝咖啡)
  13. The sun rises in the east.
  14. The earth is round.
  15. Two and two are four. (二加二等於四)
  16. Two points define a line. (兩點決定一條線)

現在進行式

verb to be + present participle (be 動詞+現在分詞)

  1. I am watching a movie.
    • I watch movies 代表我有看電影的習慣。
